Hypertension Diagnostics Announces First Quarter FY 2002 Results

ST. PAUL, MNNovember 14, 2001Hypertension Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq SmallCap: HDII), today announced financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended September 30, 2001.  
 

 

The Company reported revenue of $91,715 in the first quarter ended September 30, 2001 relating to sales of its HDI/PulseWave™ CR-2000 Research CardioVascular Profiling System and per-patient-tested revenue derived from the CVProfilor® DO-2020 System. Revenue in the prior year’s comparable first quarter totaled $448,804, which related only to sales of the CR-2000 Research System. The Company incurred a net loss of $2,109,789 in the quarter ended September 30, 2001, or $.36 per share compared with a net loss of $347,320 in the quarter ended September 30, 2000 or $.07 per share. The net loss for the first quarter ended September 30, 2001 included a non-cash expense charge of $1,065,000 relating to a Consulting Agreement with a third party for investor communications and public relations consulting services.

The launch of the CVProfilor® DO-2020 System was in its seventh month as of September 30, 2001. “I am happy to report that 76 physicians had CVProfilor® DO-2020 Systems in their clinics covering 19 states throughout the United States. As we continue to launch the CVProfilor® DO-2020, our immediate efforts will be directed towards increasing product utilization and working through the nationwide network of reimbursement in support of our physician customers,” said Greg H. Guettler, President. “While environmental and economic factors will undoubtedly impact our product launch, our physician customers continue to show interest in arterial elasticity assessment which is evident in the 23 papers and abstracts already published in 2001 relating to our pulse wave analysis methodology. This is the largest number of published works within any one-year period in the history of our Company,” said Guettler.
