Recent estimates indicate that nearly 130 million Chinese have high blood pressure which is up from 90 million in 1990. Immediately after we learned of the approval, we shipped an additional five CVProfilor^® DO-2020 Systems for use in China, bringing our total units shipped to fifteen. Additionally, we expect to begin a regular schedule of future shipments to China in the spring of 2003,” said Guettler. “China has approximately 1.5 million doctors and approximately 90,000 hospitals. Preventing cardiovascular disease in the Chinese population is of great importance to these physicians and we see this market as a source of opportunity for us in the future,” added Guettler.
